Thoughtful Choices, Healthier Living

Why I Choose OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 for My Home

There are quiet things in our homes that shape our days more than we realize.

Fabric is one of them.

The dresses we wear while preparing meals, the linens folded in the closet, the quilts we pull over ourselves at the end of a long day—these are the materials that stay close to us. They brush against our skin morning and night, woven quietly into the rhythm of everyday life.

Cotton and linen both begin in nature.
They start as simple fibers growing in fields.

But what happens after harvest matters just as much.

During the dyeing and finishing stages of textile production, fabrics can sometimes come into contact with substances used to preserve color or prevent wrinkling—things like formaldehyde, heavy metals, or chemical residues. These processes are common in the modern textile industry, which is exactly why independent certifications have become so valuable.

One of the most trusted is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

This certification means a finished textile has been carefully tested for a long list of potentially harmful substances. Every component—from the dye to the thread—must meet strict safety standards before the fabric can carry the OEKO-TEX label.

For fabrics like cotton and linen, this brings a gentle reassurance.

These are the materials many of us reach for because they feel breathable, natural, and comforting against the skin. OEKO-TEX certification simply adds another layer of confidence—knowing the fabric has been tested with human health in mind.

When we choose fabrics thoughtfully, we’re choosing what fills our homes, our wardrobes, and the things we create with our hands.

And those choices ripple quietly through daily life.

Because the fabrics we live in should not only be beautiful.

They should also be worthy of the lives unfolding within them.

There’s a quiet thread that runs through many of the choices we make at home.

We begin to look a little more closely at the things that surround us…
the fabrics touching our skin, the food on our table, the products we use each day.

Often, that awareness starts in one place and slowly spreads into others.

For me, it really transformed with fabric—learning how textiles are grown, processed, and finished. But over time, that same curiosity led me to look at other parts of daily life too, especially the ways we support our health.

One of the supplements I’ve been especially grateful for lately is the Dynamic Duo from Just Thrive.

It includes their spore-based probiotic and antioxidant supplement, designed to support digestion, gut health, and overall resilience in the body. I appreciate that the formula is thoughtfully made and carefully tested—something that matters more and more the deeper I go down this path of mindful living.

For today only (3/13), everything at Just Thrive is 20% off when you use my code GABY. Savings will go back to 15% after that.

If you’ve been curious about their supplements—or if you’ve been meaning to try the Dynamic Duo—today is a wonderful time to explore.

Because just like the fabrics we choose to bring into our homes, the small daily habits that support our health matter too.

They become part of the quiet foundation that carries us through each day.

Issue #1 Introducing A Slower Day at Home Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how often our days rush past us. Morning comes quickly. The middle of the day fills itself. Evening arrives before we feel finished. And somewhere in between, many of us are left wondering why life feels so full—and yet so thin. A Slower Day at Home was born from that wondering. Not from a desire to perfect routines or optimize schedules, but from a longing to live more gently inside the life we already have....
